Respite clubs, social skills & independence
We are proud to have been awarded a Barking and Dagenham Social Value Delivery Award. We have a commitment to delivering volunteering, training and employment to Barking and Dagenham young people aged 16+ which we feel benefits both the club and the local community.
Organisations that have earned this badge have committed and delivered social value activities to the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD). The benefit, outcomes and impact have been received by either Barking and Dagenham's residents, the economy and/or the environment.
Our amazing team of staff and volunteers are committed to providing amazing support to all of the children and young people who attend our clubs. We take vetting and training our staff very seriously and we always work to the highest Ofsted standards.
We started Purple Penguin Club in 2016 as we felt that the children in Barking and Dagenham deserved a respite club which was run at the highest quality possible, with fun and enthusiastic staff. We are governed by a small group of Trustees (all volunteers) who are committed to ensuring that our respite support clubs are run to the highest standard possible.
We are a registered charity solely dedicated to improving the lives of children (and families) in Barking and Dagenham. Every penny we are donated goes directly back into the running of the clubs.
